Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Finally Watched The " The Lorax "

I dunno who that book & movie are preaching to. I've always found myself on the side of the Lorax all these years. I also don't quite get the appeal of the Once-ler. ... I guess I have to be a girl for that.... the guy was an idiot though! What's to like? The movie was a bit disjointed but kinda pretty to look at. I liked the fish. :nod:

ANYWAY, I don't wanna go back & watch it again but I swear, during the scene where the kid is making out with his cereal box, that there's a carton on the table by his mom that had Dr. LaRue from " Horton Hears A Who " on it.  I saw something that looked like her hair... but I guess it may have been a bird. I'm probably wrong. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

so I watched your link on the onceler......i was good Lord! he has a face! and young? I mean really? I always thought is was a 40 year old man as the onceler... he reminded me of a green willy wonka or the riddler from batman XD...i'll be back in the states soon so I will plop myself into a chair to see the whole movie :)
